Legendry Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Skipper Ian Walker is giving one lucky bidder the chance to win his personal IWC Schaffhausen Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph ’Ocean Racer’ worn during the current Volvo Ocean Race, and experience the race in person during the finale in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Ian is one of Britain’s most successful sailors, winning two silver medals at the Olympics. The former Olympian is keen to make it third time lucky after two campaigns as a Volvo Ocean Race skipper that have left him hungry for victory.
Charity Stars has teamed up with the legendry Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing Skipper, and Ian is now giving one lucky bidder this truly one-off opportunity. The auction is in aid of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, which supports and assists a worldwide programme of over 150 sports related community projects that have been working to educate children, protect the vulnerable from illness and even bring people from divided communities together in friendship, for over 15 years.
What you win
The winning bidder will be hosted in Gothenburg, Sweden for three nights from 25-28 June, 2015. Whilst in Gothenburg they will participate in a sailing session on board Azzam, the Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing boat, watch the In Port Race, and receive the one-of-a-kind timepiece from Skipper Ian Walker himself. With its beautifully laid-out silver-plated dial and blued hands and indices, the Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph ’Ocean Racer’ is the perfect timepiece. The tradition behind the Portugieser watch family goes all the way back to the precision nautical instruments used by seafarers to discover the world.
